This weeks Concert and After Prom Donations

Hi Band Families…

Please plan on attending the Concert on Wednesday night, May 2^nd at 7:00 pm and bring your family…

Along with the 50/50 raffle we will have a donation table for After Prom. Traditionally the Band has prepared and supported After Prom by doing the food.

We are in need of the following donations:

-cases of bottled water-16oz

-hot dogs

-hot dog rolls

-popcorn kernels

-candy - hard individually wrapped

-otter pops

-ketsup

-mustard

-jalapeños

-large cans of nacho cheese

-large soft pretzels

Please donate what you can at the concert and we will send additional emails with items you can bring to the May 8^th Booster Meeting.

50/50 Raffle At Next Week's Concert

Hi Band Families,

We will be holding a 50/50 raffle at next week's band concert to raise money for the scholarship fund.

We will be selling tickets for $1.00 each. The drawing will be at the end of the concert. It is pretty simple, 50% of the proceeds will go into the scholarship rund and 50% will go to one lucky winner!

Must be present to win.

So dig up some extra cash and try your luck. The real winner is the scholarship fund!

BANDIMERE JULY 2012

Pomona Band Supporters, Students and Race Fans,

It's Race Season again! Yes it is another year to Support our Kids and our Band!

This opportunity helps take care of a portion of our Band Budget for the year!

That means it is events like this that keep our Band fees low.

An event of this size and magnitude will take the support of the entire band.

We will operate the food stand on the east side of the track as other years.

We have two events this year Jet Cars & Fireworks and The Mile High Nationals.

Jet Cars & Fireworks is on July 4th and is one day.

For this event we will start around Noon and open at 1pm with a small set up crew.

First shift 12pm to 6pm. Needed 8 Volunteers: Four tips trained & Four Students

Second shift 4pm to10pm or until the stand is clean: Seven tips trained & Seven Students.

Mile High Nationals on July 20th -22nd.

I do not have exact times for this event yet but:

Last year Friday July 20th was 12pm to 10:30pm split into two shifts: 12pm to 6:30pm and 6pm to 10:30pm

Saturday July21st was 8am to 6:30pm split into two shifts: 8am to 1:30pm and 1pm to 6:30pm

and Sunday July22nd was 8am to 4:30pm split into two shifts: 8am to 12:30pm and 12pm to 4:30pm

This is a big venue to staff and takes a lot of work before hand and the sooner you can contact me know days and shifts you can the better. Work as many days and shift you can, Parents, Students, Friends and Family.

Outlaws Games 2012

Greetings Pomona Band Supporters,

We have another opportunity to earn money for our student's band account.

It is the 2012 Outlaws Season.

The Games are on Saturday nights and parking is at Sports Authority Field.

We have requested four games; May 12th, June 2nd, June16th and July14th.

We are confirmed to have May 12th and June 2nd.

We still need Managers.

We have openings for the June 2nd and we may need volunteers for May 12th.

We can always use back ups, things do come up.

TOMORROW, APRIL 20, IS THE LAST DAY TO TURN IN YOUR RESERVATION FORM FOR THE BANQUET!! You can give it to Carol Huser or Chris Huser or put it in the red box in Mr. Roush's office.

*Don't forget that the Banquet is Sat., May 5 @ 5-7 pm. @ Arvada United Methodist Church (same place as last year).

*Don't forget that you can buy a Band DVD for $5 from Kinzie Ham @ the Banquet.

New band student

Hello, I was just talking to a friend from north arvada middle school that would be a freshaman next year. He plays the saxaphone, and seems to have an interest in band. Is there any way that I can get dates and times of upcoming parent meetings, or freshman band camp in order to help? Thank you

are scheduled to work... though, I am sure they would not say no to
several more people (adults and students) to help. IT WILL BE

Desparate Call For IMMEDIATE Help!

Well parents… we may be at a crossroads with Bingo! We have such a limited team on week 3 that we are not even able to function!

We have pleaded, begged, threatened and yet no parents to work team three with Karen Langen on a consistent and regular basis.

I really don’t know what more to do…

This is the last month that we can do this. $ 30,000.00 is a lot to loose L

TIPS Training

Band Families,

Bandimere Speedway will be hosting a TIPS Training (alcohol awareness) class on Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at 6:30pm. The training will take place in the Race Track Control Tower, Suite 207. Please enter the facility through Gate B and park in the staging lanes on the south side of the tower.

The class will last approximately two hours, followed by the TIPS Certification exam.

I will be sending in a list of everyone attending. If you are interested in TIPS training or renewing your certification please let me know and I will get you registered.

We do need TIPS trainined people for July 4th and Mile High Nationals on July 20,21 and 22. If you want to work Outlaws games or Broncos games you also need to be TIPS trained.

Scrip Order - good way to put some money back in student account

There will be scrip order forms tonight at the Booster meeting. I am unable to make the meeting due to work, so turn those back in to Lorrie Ham. She will be taking those and I will be getting from her.

I already have 4 orders for scrips, so this order should be a low cost per card as well. I will be placing this order first thing on Tuesday.

I have attached the order form if needed. It is also posted out on the Pomona Band website. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Hello Percussion Families!

Welcome to our final push to state! State is taking place at the First Bank Event Center on Saturday April 7th. Here's a short breakdown of this week's rehearsal schedule -

Thursday (Mar 29) - 4-7 Rehearsal at Moore

Friday (Mar 30) - 9-5 Rehearsal at Moore

Saturday (Mar 31) - 9-5 Rehearsal at Moore

Monday (April 2) - 9-5 Rehearsal at Moore

Tuesday - 4-7 Rehearsal at Moore

Wednesday - 3-5 Sectionals at Pomona

Thursday - 4-7 Rehearsal at Moore

Friday - 4-7 Rehearsal at Moore

Saturday - Morning Rehearsal, then Prelims and Finals State competition!

I must reiterate to all how important these last rehearsals are to end our season well, one last week and a half of hard work to finish our season as strong as we can!

The day of State will be a busy day, one thing we would like to do is get the students Chipotle (or was it Qdoba?) between the performances. Becky Bass is heading this up and found out that it will cost each student $9.50 to make this happen. I will talk with the kids at rehearsal to see what their response is. If it looks like the majority of them want it, I will ask them to have the money to us by Tuesday next week.

We will also be talking with students individually about where they are on their dues, there has been some miss communication so far and we need to work this out! If you have any payments that did not make it to the red box in the office, please give them to your student to be turned in, thank you!

Booster Meeting April 9th

Hi Families… Please remember we have our Booster Meeting on Monday, April 9^th at 7:00 PM at Pomona.

This is a change as we usually have our meeting on Tuesday nights. This will be our Election meeting for the 2012-2013 school year. All positions are available for this upcoming year but in particular the 2^nd VP position in charge of fundraising. This could be a shared position if you are interested.
