[RRS Run Group] 2 things

Thanks to all who ran hills yesterday. Great idea for a change of pace, Piar. My legs are SORE today!

#2 - is anyone planning on doing the 3W Let Freedom Run race on July 4? It's in Louisville, but sounds like a great course - and I always like to support James and Michelle. I am torn between the 10K and the 5K however. Someone to run with could sway my decision. ;-)

Casino Bus

Hey all,

We still have room on the bus to Blackhawk.

Saturday July 14^th leaving Pomona at 5 and back about 11pm.

The cost is $20.00 and the money goes right into your students account.

Hi Everyone,

If you think you might be interested in working the Broncos games this season please read Wendy's email below.

Money earned at Broncos games goes directly in your student account.

Centerplate is requiring Frontline training for all NPO volunteers. I was at the training last night and she said this

applies to students as well.

I will be out of town until July 4th. If you would like to attend training, Frontline or TIPS, the first week of July,

please email Wendy directly to reserve a spot.

If you are interested in training after that, let me know and I will send in one Pomona Music request.

We are planning a packing/unpacking day this Saturday June 23, 2012 from 8:30 – 3:00ish in the uniform temp at Pomona to pack away the red/black show uniform jackets and shakos and pull out and inventory the grey/black grand nationals jackets and shakos for this year's show. If you are available to come help, we would appreciate your time.

Additionally, during the July band camp (July 12^th-14^th) we will begin fitting the students for their uniforms for this season. If you can help fit students for their uniforms and are available for any part of those days of band camp, I would appreciate the help to get all the students fitted for their uniforms. Likely we will only get through the Seniors and Juniors, and will start on the Sophomores and Freshman during August band camps. I will only be available during the Saturday band camps in August to fit uniforms and the evening sectionals and rehearsals as necessary.

Finally, if you can hem pants with a blind hem, we would appreciate any help we can get to hem pants, especially during August.

Pomonafest meeting

Hi Everyone,

It is time to start working on the Pomona Marching Festival. If you were a Lead last year or would like to be a Lead in the future, please come to a meeting at the School on Tuesday, June 19th at 7pm. There are many positions that are held by senior parents who need someone to shadow them. This is also a good time to see all of the different positions to work at Pomonafest.

Remember that every band family is required to work this very important Band fundraiser.

Band Bags

Hello Everyone

For those of you that dont know me my name is Heather Vigil, I do all of the orders for Show Shirts, Pomonafest shirts, Commitment to Excellent shirts and Band Bags.

It is Time to order your Band/Guard Bags! I only put this order in once a years so you dont want to miss out. The bags are great to keep everything the kids need in for rehearsals and competitions. I handed out order forms yesterday and will be at the Booster meeting tonight with a sample of the bag for everyone to see. The bags are $22 each and it will have the students name embroidered on it with Pomona Band or Pomona Guard. All orders are due July 14th after camp.

Booster Meeting

Bandimere - July 4th

Hey Band Families,

July 4th is only a few short weeks away. We will be staffing the east concessions stand

for the July 4th race and fireworks event at at Bandimere Speedway.

We will have two shifts 12:00(noon) to 4:00pm and 4:00pm to 10:00pm.

This is a general fund fundraiser. It is important that we staff this event!

Attached is the sign up sheet. We are in need of 6 more people on the early shift and four

more on the late shift. There are TIPS and non TIPS trained positions available.

If you work the early shift, you can stay for free to watch the races and fireworks.

Band Camp tomorrow

New Member camp is from 9 – 12 tomorrow in the band room at Pomona. Please drop your kids at the band room on the east side of the school.

All members camp is from 1 – 4 PM tomorrow.

I am excited to announce that Rishona Hatcher has accepted the position as Band Director for Pomona High School!

She will be joining us from Long Beach California where she just completed her Masters of Music Performance in Instrumental Conducting at California State University-Long Beach.

As of today, we do not know the date of her relocating to Colorado but do anticipate she will be here as soon as possible.

The committee’s decision to offer Ms. Hatcher the position was 100% unanimous! She will bring energy, excitement and musical expertise to our program.
