Hi Band Families!
Sure hope the summer is treating all of you very well!
There are a lot of things that I would like to update you on, I hope this is helpful…
First, a very heartfelt “Thank You” to Cindy Pascua that has served as the secretary of the Executive Board for over a year! We appreciate all that you have done and wish you the very best!
Next, please join me in welcoming Marianne Ingle as our new Secretary! As per our By-Laws, If a “vacancy occurs, an office shall be filled by appointment by the executive board”. Marianne will be responsible for all meeting minutes as well as the newsletter. That being said, we are in transition and will be working to keep as much information flowing as possible.
The next matter of business is to be sure and complete your student information sheets at Band Camp next week (July 12, 13 and 14). We will be sending out a newsletter in hard copy while we are transitioning but hope to have everything electronic by the fall. Your information is key in communicating!. All student accounts, roster information and communication is driven off of this.
Band Fees: This year’s band fees are $475.00 per student for the fall season. Your account will be deducted this amount on or about August 15th. Please log on to http://www.boosterforce.com/pomonaband to access your students account. We will NOT be sending any information via email etc going forward, you must access this to view your account activity! If you have not already done so, set up a username by using your email address and password. There is also a link on our website, pomonaband.org or you can contact Lori DeWolf at lori@dewolfs.com for questions.
In addition, we will be traveling to Zia Fest in Albuquerque New Mexico October 19th – October 21st. The cost is $225.00 per student. The Band will be traveling by coach bus and staying for two nights at the Drury Inn. Parents planning on going may want to call and reserve rooms in advance as this is a very highly attended competition by bands in the west and rooms fill quickly.
We have NUMEROUS opportunities for fundraising if you are concerned about covering these costs. Plan on attending the Booster Meeting July 17th 7:00 PM at Pomona.
Don’t forget the CASINO BUS Saturday, July 14th leaving Pomona at 5 pm and returning at 11 pm. All money goes into your student account!!!
