[RRS Run Group] Saturday

For the Saturday run, I am starting at the store at 7:00 am. I will do 5 or so miles at a comfortable pace, and then head back to the store by 8:00, to run another 5 with the group.

Bandimere Mile High Nationsl Final Gate List and Details

Band Families,
 
First of all, a huge thank you to all that have volunteered. We could not pull this
off without you!  We managed to staff the weekend, as well as the Kenny Chesney
concert at Mile High Stadium.  Thanks Again!!!
 
I have attached the gate list for Bandimere Mile High Nationals this weekend.
 
Dress code for the event is pants or shorts, closed toed shoes and t-shirts(with sleeves. No tanks or thin straps).  Please wear Pomona Band t-shirts if you have them.  If not, as close to a solid color as you have.  You also must wear a hat, as we are serving food.  (any hat you want).
 
Some of the kids will be working an ice cream cart outside of our stand.  It does have an umbrella, but you might also want sunscreen. 
 
Parking will be on Rooney Road.  This is on the east side of C-470 across from the track.  Park as directed, pick up Bandimere Speedway credentials at the credentials trailer. Ride the shuttle to the track.  Enter on the east side of the track go directly up the steps.  The stand we will be running is directly at the top of the steps.  (do not go to the west side!).
 
If you have any problems, or for some reason cannot make it at your scheduled time please call one of us.

Kenny Chesney Concert - Check-In and Parking

The Kenny Chesney concert is Saturday July 21.

Check in for this event will be at 11:30am for cash and inventory managers and 12:30pm for all other stand staff.
 
All VOLUNTEERS  NEED TO WEAR BLACK PANTS, A WHITE T-SHIRT, AND CLOSED TOE SHOES. THEY MUST BRING IN THEIR STATE OR GOVERNMENT ID CARD TO CHECK IN!!!
 
All hats for this event must be the black Centerplate hats. No other hats will be accepted for this event. Lara will be bringing the hats.  Please do not take one at check-in.  We do get charged for these hats.
 
Parking for this event will be at Coors Field in lot A, there will be a shuttle bus that will bring you to the stadium and then back to Coors at the end of the night.
 
Enter the stadium through the loading docs on the north end of the stadium.  The bus will drop you off right there.  Take freight elevator to the 5th level.  We are in stand 525GF.

Bingo Opportunity

Hi Margaret
I heard from one of my employees that that one of the Band Booster members has called to say that there are some problems with the tomato plants they bought from us.  It sounds like a Bloosom End Rot problem and this is caused by a calcium deficiency.  Tomato plants need more that just your everyday plant food.  We sell a product called Yield Booster  that can help with this problem.  It can also be be found at any garden center.
It has been a tough season for everyone's garden but hopefully this tip will help.

We will have more opportunities to support our fine band and the musicians we all love when Broncos season starts.

Casino Bus Cancellation

I received new information from Bandimere today.  The shift times have changed as follows:
 
Friday July 20th
9:00am to 3:30pm
3:00pm to 9:30pm
 
Saturday July 21st
7:30am - 12:30pm
12:00pm to 6:30pm

7:00am to 12:30pm
12:00pm to 4:30pm
 
I have attached the current staffing.  Please note there is a tab on the spreadsheet for each day.

Casino Bus!! Last call!!

Hey all,

 

We still need 19 people to fill the bus to Blackhawk.

 

We are leaving on Saturday Afternoon at 5pm and will be back at 11pm.

 

This is a student fundraiser so the $20.00 you pay will go straight into your students account.

 

If we do not fill the bus by 12:00 pm Wednesday July 11 we will have to cancel it. We really don't want that to happen.

Come prepared on Wednesday to test run with the Timex GPS watches.  Tim Hola and the Elite Timex Racing Team will be here to demonstrate how the new GPS watches work.  You will be able to run with the watch of your choice.  Get here a little early.  Tim will be here to answer questions before and after the run.

Casino Bus July 14th

Next Saturday July 14th the bus leaves Pomona at 5:00 and returns at 11:00PM.  The cost is $20.00 a person and it all goes to your student. 

 

Feel free to ask family and friends. The more the merrier. It's going to be a lot of fun for all.

Bandimere Mile High Nationals

Hi Band Families,
 
First of all I would like to thank everyone who worked on July 4th.  The morning shift was a little slow,
but it got busy in the afternoon.  We were able to keep up with food, and the lines were manageable.
We also got some great compliments from the Bandimere staff!
 
Mile High Nationals are just two weeks away.  It is July 20, 21 and 22.  This is one of our bigger fund raisers for the general fund.
It is important that we get this staffed, so we get asked back next season.
 
I have attached the staffing we have so far.  Please take a look and verify you can work the shift I have
you down for. 
 
If you can help fill the gaps we can use you!!!
 
Please let me know as soon as possible.

I will be there tomorrow, but not any earlier than 8.  It's supposed to cool off this afternoon, so hopefully tomorrow won't be so hot.  It's also the breakfast run, right Sam?!

Booster/Band Updates!

Hi Band Families!

 

Sure hope the summer is treating all of you very well!

 

There are a lot of things that I would like to update you on, I hope this is helpful…

 

First, a very heartfelt “Thank You” to Cindy Pascua that has served as the secretary of the Executive Board for over a year!  We appreciate all that you have done and wish you the very best!

 

Next, please join me in welcoming Marianne Ingle as our new Secretary!  As per our By-Laws, If a “vacancy occurs, an office shall be filled by appointment by the executive board”.  Marianne will be responsible for all meeting minutes as well as the newsletter.  That being said, we are in transition and will be working to keep as much information flowing as possible. 

 

The next matter of business is to be sure and complete your student information sheets at Band Camp next week (July 12, 13 and 14).  We will be sending out a newsletter in hard copy while we are transitioning but hope to have everything electronic by the fall.  Your information is key in communicating!.  All student accounts, roster information and communication is driven off of this.

 

Band Fees:  This year’s band fees are $475.00 per student for the fall season.  Your account will be deducted this amount on or about August 15th.  Please log on to http://www.boosterforce.com/pomonaband to access your students account. We will NOT be sending any information via email etc going forward, you must access this to view your account activity!  If you have not already done so, set up a username by using your email address and password.  There is also a link on our website, pomonaband.org or you can contact Lori DeWolf at lori@dewolfs.com for questions.

 

In addition, we will be traveling to Zia Fest in Albuquerque New Mexico October 19th – October 21st.  The cost is $225.00 per student.   The Band will be traveling by coach bus and staying for two nights at the Drury Inn. Parents planning on going may want to call and reserve rooms in advance as this is a very highly attended competition by bands in the west and rooms fill quickly. 

 

We have NUMEROUS opportunities for fundraising if you are concerned about covering these costs.  Plan on attending the Booster Meeting July 17th  7:00 PM at Pomona.

 

Don’t forget the CASINO BUS Saturday, July 14th leaving Pomona at 5 pm and returning at 11 pm. All money goes into your student account!!!

 

WHEW !!!! Tired fingers!

Bandimere - July 4th details

Hi Everyone,
 
Attached is the gate list for July 4th.
 
Please be at Bandimere Speedway for your shift.
Enter at Gate B, Park in the employee parking lot, and report to the walk-thru gate at the ticket center. 
Identify yourself as a volunteer concession employee.
Report to the east side concession counter.
 
Wear closed toed shoes.  Please no crocs or sandles.  You can wear shorts, and a Pomona shirt or race related shirt.  If you don't have either a solid
color t-shirt will work.  Please bring a hat.  All concessions employees are required to bring one.
